Jesus at the garden of Gethsemane

At the slopes of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, located one of the most famous Christian Holy Land sites – The Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed along with his disciplesand he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray”. (Mark 14:32)

According to the Garden of gethsemane story – Christian tradition states Jesus Christ met the spirit of despair and Agony. Jesus in Gethsemane launches the “Passion”, the period of Jesus Christ suffering path up to the crucifixion.

Gethsemane = in Hebrew גת שמנים = Oil Press, believed to be a place where Jesus Christ and his disciples used to visit and prayer.

According to the disciples Jesus anguish prayer at the garden of gethsemane was so deep that his sweat seemed like drops of blood falling down to the ground of the garden,           “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground”. (Luke 22:43-44).

Judas arrest of Jesus at the garden of gethsemane story: The fact that Jesus Christ and the disciples used to visit the garden occasionally for prayers, it allowed Judas to track and find Jesus in the night of his arrest before the crucifixion.  The traditional scripts state that Judas had a secret pre-arranged sign with the soldiers – identifying Jesus by kissing him. The Kiss of Judas is known as sign of Betrayal.
